Support for United Nations 2720 Mechanism for Gaza
United Nations Humanitarian and Reconstruction Mechanism for Gaza (UNHRM) has as its purpose the facilitation, acceleration and verification of the provision of humanitarian relief consignments to Gaza, as mandated by UN Security Council Resolution 2720 (2023). The overall goal is to facilitate and expedite the flow of humanitarian, as well as commercial, aid into Gaza, provide further transparency and database, allow prioritization and monitoring and ensure an effective response to the needs of 2.2 million people of Gaza, which can encompass humanitarian, reconstruction, and early recovery needs.The mechanism is operationalized and managed by UNOPS, under the overall guidance and leadership of the Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza.
