An adviser to your AI Secretary-General briefs you on each programme's purpose, beneficiaries, performance indicators and issues, based solely on the original IATI text.

Based on that, you can judge for yourself, as a world citizen, whether the budget is appropriate, should be kept, or should be rebuilt.

HCFC phase-out management plan (stage II)

Budget for this programme
$4.1M
4.1 million USD

The hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFC) phase-out management plan (HPMP) Stage II for Argentina seeks to reduce HCFC consumption by 50% of the baseline consumption in Argentina. The Government of Argentina leads the implementation of the HPMP Stage II, with support from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), as the Lead Implementing Agency. Under Stage II, UNIDO is providing technical support to help industries in the foam sector redesign their production processes to move away from HCFCs. This will contribute to the national objective of eliminating the import and use of HCFC-141b, pure or contained in pre-blended polyols, for the manufacture of polyurethane foam. UNIDO and the Government of Argentina are also working to phase-out HCFC-22 in the RAC servicing sector, through a comprehensive technician training and certification scheme on the use of flammable refrigerants (alternatives to HCFCs). The implementation of the HPMP is supported by a grant from the Multilateral Fund to assist the Government of Argentina in meeting its compliance commitments under the Montreal Protocol.
