Budget for this programme

Central Asia is facing challenges to coping with the adverse effects of climate change. One of the most significant effects of global warming in the region is glacial melting, due to which, there is an increased danger of Glacier Lake Outburst Floods, which confound and exacerbate water-related threats to mountain communities, their settlements, livelihood, and infrastructure. The project aims to strengthen adaptation to climate change by reducing societal risks and vulnerabilities associated with GLOFs. It will enhance monitoring, analytical and response capacities of institutions and government officials responsible for DRR and CCA, as well will address specifically the communities at risk
