Regional Refugee and Migrant Response Plan (RMRP) for the Venezuela Situation 2023

The ongoing political and socio-economic developments in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (hereinafter Venezuela) have led to the outflow of millions of Venezuelans into neighbouring countries and beyond. The Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region has never experienced, in modern history, such a large-scale movement of both migrants and refugees. Guided by the principle of “leaving no one behind” of the 2030 Agenda, this project implements inclusive and comprehensive gender-sensitive initiatives to help eliminate barriers to accessing goods, services, and opportunity and empower all affected persons and groups. Activities are included in the Regional Refugee and Migrant Response Plan 2023 and respond to the challenges faced by Venezuelan refugees and migrants, as well as host countries and communities. The project is being implemented with a principled and rights-based approach, upholding key standards of protection, accountability to affected populations, gender equality and data protection principles.
