Regional Refugee And Migrant Response Plan (RMRP 2023 - 2024) For The Venezuelan Situation In Colombia

Despite the Colombian Government’s efforts to regularize and integrate refugees and migrants through the Temporary Protection Statute for Venezuelans, thousands of vulnerable Venezuelan migrants and refugees continue to face multiple challenges in terms of response capacity in the regularization process, access to humanitarian assistance services, protection, basic healthcare services, among others. Venezuelan refugees and migrants can now enter the country with greater ease since official border crossings were reopened in the last quarter of 2022, irregular migrants, originating from migration flows heading toward Central and North America, are expected to continue. Through this project, the International Organization for Migration is strengthening the Regional Refugee and Migrant Response Plan implementation, providing safe and dignified essential humanitarian assistance and access to basic services for Venezuelan refugees and migrants, as well as host communities.
