TOBG Advancing digital trade reforms in Cote d'Ivoire
This project will support the Government of Côte d'Ivoire in promoting the use of technology to accelerate structural transformation and development, including through economic diversification, job creation and increased trade. Since 2021, the Government, under the leadership of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, has taken steps to implement the recommendations included in the UNCTAD eTrade Readiness Assessment, starting with the creation of a dedicated E-commerce Directorate within the Ministry. In 2023, Côte d’Ivoire requested further support from UNCTAD to develop a national strategy for the development of digital trade and e-commerce. Work to develop the strategy commenced at the end of 2023 and the strategy and its related implementation plan and governance and institutional framework were adopted by the Council of Ministers in July 2025. This project is a follow up to those intiatives.
