Protecting journalists to protect democracy: tackling emergency threat
The project targets five regions (Latin America, Africa, Arab States, Europe, Asia), to provide a holistic approach to advancing the safety of journalists and protecting democracy. The project will work on four key outcomes: 1.Supporting normative frameworks and programme initiatives that address the situation of journalists in crisis contexts; 2.Creating an enabling environment for freedom of expression and safety of journalists during electoral processes 3.Reinforcing the resilience and safety of journalists in at least 10 countries, with a focus on tackling digital and legal attacks 4.Women journalists have enhanced skills to deal with specific gendered threats
