2026 oPt Emergency Appeal - Gaza - Education in Emergencies

UNRWA will continue providing MHPSS interventions through the work of 500 school counsellors, aiming to reach more than 200,000 children and creating a holistic approach to education during emergencies. The Agency will maintain and scale up learning opportunities through temporary learning spaces in UNRWA shelters, aiming to reach over 100,000 children with basic literacy and numeracy activities, complemented by recreational and PSS interventions. In 2026, UNRWA plans to continue its Distance Learning Programme during the 2025/26 school year, aiming to reach over 290,000 students with core subjects and interactive learning activities to complement in-person lessons and reach children unable to access temporary learning spaces. UNRWA will also extend technical and vocational education and training to some 1,900 youth and young adults, equipping them with practical skills for employment and self-reliance.
