Somalia Urban Resilience Project Phase Two (SURP-II)
In response to the expected internally displaced persons (IDPs) crisis following the current drought, the IOM in Somalia is scaling-up of the ongoing Somalia Urban Resilience Project Phase II - Contingent Emergency Response Component (SURP II CERC) activities, to further mitigate the impact of drought displacement and drought related needs in Mogadishu, Baidoa, and Garowe. As part of its comprehensive, coordinated, and integrated approach, IOM is supporting the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) to provide drought-affected populations with a minimum response package (MRP) that includes water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), health, nutrition, food security (delivered through multi-purpose cash assistance), camp coordination and camp management (CCCM) and emergency shelter support. This intervention is to be delivered by IOM, in partnership with the Building Resilient Communities in Somalia (BRCiS) Consortium.
