The headwaters of main river systems in Central Asia heavily depend on the seasonal melting of cryosphere, with little additional precipitation input in their lower reaches. These rivers sustain the lives and livelihoods of the people and the economic development in the region. However, glaciers of CA are experiencing a rapid decline in mass. Changes in glaciers will have significant effects on the large populations of the region. Its necessary to understand the impact of CC to the cryosphere in the region. The project aims to establish regional collaboration for adaptation strategies, validated on the basis of scientific assessment of snow, glacier, permafrost and available water resources
