2026 oPt Emergency Appeal - Gaza - Coordination and Management

In Gaza, approximately 11,500 UNRWA personnel, most of whom are themselves internally displaced, are actively engaged in the humanitarian response and the delivery of essential services despite considerable personal risk. UNRWA continues to play a central role in the coordination and management of the humanitarian response, maintaining an extensive network of owned and rented premises that serve as vital hubs for the storage and distribution of humanitarian aid. The Agency will continue repairs and security enhancements to its distribution centres and warehouses, decentralise aid storage to enhance capacity and responsiveness, and coordinate closely with humanitarian partners to establish shared humanitarian hubs and pipelines with common UN premises. UNRWA’s logistics operations are supported by a robust fleet of vehicles, fuel storage infrastructure and mobile storage units. The Agency will continue to invest in the repair and expansion of logistics hubs and maintain additional warehousing and electricity generation capacity to support transhipment and distribution operations.
