Bangladesh Appeal 2023 – Rohingya Humanitarian Crisis

As of 31 January 2023, an estimated 917,588 Rohingya refugees are registered in Cox's Bazar and Basan Char Island and are residing in 33 extremely congested camps. Despite the continuous efforts of humanitarian actors on the ground, humanitarian needs persist. According to the Joint Response Plan (JRP) 2023 for the Rohingya Humanitarian Crisis, 1.52 million people are in need. In line with the JRP, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) continues to provide quality health services, shelter, access to safe water, and to uphold the protection needs of the most vulnerable individuals in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, while ensuring greater representation in camp governance. This is contributing towards the reduced vulnerabilities of Rohingya refugees and host communities, with particular attention on cross-cutting concerns such as accountability to affected populations and the environment.
